Updates are crucial because they fix security flaws (like Zero-Day vulnerabilities) that could be exploited. Once these vulnerabilities are known, software creators rush to patch them. That’s why it’s so important to keep your machines updated. Imagine if car manufacturers had to do the same – we’d be in quite a pickle!
Of course, there’s always some risk with updates. For example, a recent untested update from CrowdStrike antivirus caused around 8.5 million systems to crash. But it was the antivirus update, not Windows updates, that caused the issue.
